"Jesus...the Man of Compassion"
Here are a few thoughts from the message....see Luke 10:25-35
Jerusalem to Jerich0...leaving the place of God's Presence and journeying 18 miles down, down "The Bloody Way" this man was stripped, beaten and left for dead by thieves who had lain in weight to ensnare him and rob him of what he had.
How many times has a child of God left the Place and Presence of God and journeyed down the road of fleshy desires and carnality, pride and rebellion and stepped right into the snares of the enemy who has came to steal, kill and destroy the Work of Christ in and through them? Left for dead by religion and the self righteous or the "too busy", they lay dying on the wayside, passed by and neglected by the very hands who are to reach out to help them to healing and wholeness. Ashamed of their condition, feeling guilty for their fall, they are weak, wounded and oh, so weary of trying to fight for freedom, they accept defeat, sinking into despair....
But, wait, their is One who sees past the mistakes, the failures, the fear and the silent cries for help. He is Jesus Messiah, the Son of Almighty God. He scoops up this broken and bleeding man, cleansing his wounds and pouring in the Oil and the Wine, setting the man upon His own donkey and carries him to a place of refuge and healing with a promise that if any more is owed on the debt, He will return to pay it.
Child of God who has lost your way, when you can not get to Jesus due to your condition or circumstance, He will come to you. As Bro Chris states in his preaching this week, "Jesus will look past any thing, any situation, any addiction, any depression, any circumstance in you and your life to get to you...He does not worry about how you got in the ditches of life or even why you are still there, He is concerned only with one thing...getting you out!! Jesus sees past the failures, the sin, the mistake, He sees your heart. In the middle of your greatest mess, He is still Messiah!!!"
They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way, they found no city to dwell in. Hungry & thirsty, their soul fainted in them. Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered (to rescue without fail) them out of their distressess....He satisfieth the longing soul and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
They sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron because they rebelled against the Words of God. Therefore He brought down their heart with labour, they fell down and their was none to help. Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble and He saved them out of their distressess. He brought them out of darkness & the shadow of death & break their bands assunder...He sent His Word and healed them & delivered them from their destructions...Ps 107
